Château Laballe Chardonnay des Landes Blanc
Château Laballe is located in the heart of the Sud-Ouest, in the Côtes de Gascogne, between the Landes and the Gers and was granted AOC status in 1981. The area consists of various soil types, including alluvial soils, slate, salt and clay, combined with the Atlantic climate and the grape varieties Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc and Ugni Blanc, which together produce crisp wines with a rich aromatic palette. The concentration of oxidized iron gives freshness and minerals to the wine.
The Chardonnay des Landes comes from Landai, France. The grapes comes from less than 1ha. The soil consists of sand, loam and iron strips. In this region called the “sables fauves”.
The Laballe Chardonnay des Landes has expressive aromas of citrus, orchard fruit and a hint of vanilla. The colour is pale with golden reflections. The nose is complex and intense with woody notes. In the mouth the floral notes add to the aromas of coconut and vanilla. The citrus notes continue to dominate, with a subtle hint of honey and a clean, lingering finish
In the words of the Winemaker, Cyril Laudet : It is the only Chardonnay produced in the Landes!
100% Chardonnay
