Château de L’Ou Can’t Get Enough 2017
Bought in 1998, this is a family run estate created by the incredibly talented and passionate Séverine and Philippe Bourrier, and lies just to the south of Perpignan, in the plains region of the Roussillon. It consists of three separate terroirs, all farmed organically. The vineyard terroir for Chateau de L’Ou Blanc Cotes Du Roussillon consists of alluvial marls of the Roussillon plain. The name of the estate comes from the Catalan word l’Ou, meaning egg, because of the egg-shaped well on the property.
Dubbed “A Rising Star in the Roussillon” by Jeb Dunnuck, their wines are exceptional.
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, April 2018 92/100: Nose is characterized by black fruits, with a violet bouquet. The powerful and rich mouth is seduced by its complex aromas of chocolate and blackberries. Very fine tannins.
