Château de L’Ou I Have a Dream
Bought in 1998, this is a family run estate created by the incredibly talented and passionate Séverine and Philippe Bourrier, and lies just to the south of Perpignan, in the plains region of the Roussillon. It consists of three separate terroirs, all farmed organically. The vineyard terroir for Chateau de L’Ou Blanc Cotes Du Roussillon consists of alluvial marls of the Roussillon plain. The name of the estate comes from the Catalan word l’Ou, meaning egg, because of the egg-shaped well on the property.
Dubbed “A Rising Star in the Roussillon” by Jeb Dunnuck, their wines are exceptional.
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, April 2018 | 92/100: The nose reveals notes of garrigue, with blackcurrant aromas. The powerful and rich mouth seduces by its complex thyme, cistus and rosemary aromas. Very fine tannins.
A big, sexy fruit bomb based on Grenache and Syrah, the 2017 Côtes du Roussillon Villages I Have A Dream By Séverine Bourrier boasts a deep ruby/purple color as well as outstanding notes of black raspberries, toasted spices, graphite, and licorice. Brought up in a mix of stainless steel and barrels, it has medium to full body, ripe tannins, and rocking purity of fruit
