Find Your Wine

Find Your Wine

Not sure what you’re looking for? Start here.

If you already know what bottle you want, choosing wine is simple, but it gets a little harder when you're staring at dozens of wines, many hailing from producers you've never heard of, and wondering which one you'll enjoy.

“ That's where we come in.”

There's no need to know the grape variety, vintage, or region before you start. Instead, we want you to tell us what you do know. What are you eating, what do you usually drink, who are you buying for, and how much would you like to spend? All of these can inform your next purchase.

Or, you can throw all of that out the window and opt for something completely new instead.

There are many ways to find your next bottle.

What's for dinner?

Food is perhaps the simplest place to start.

You may be looking for a crisp white to pair with seafood, something that can stand up to a spicy curry, a red for steak night or a bottle of sparkling wine to enjoy before dinner.

And because we're in Singapore, the wine pairing options don't stop at pasta, steak and cheese. We eat so many different flavours in this part of the world, and whether it's chilli crab, laksa, satay, Hainanese chicken rice, or char siu, they deserve a pairing and a place at the table, too.

Start with what's on your menu and explore wines that may work alongside it.

What do you normally drink?

You don't need to be a sommelier to know what you enjoy.

You may enjoy a Chardonnay and avoid heavier wines; perhaps you reach for Sauvignon Blanc, maybe it's Pinot Noir, or nothing but Shiraz will do.

It's all useful information in your search for wine.

Rather than buying the same thing again, use what you already enjoy as a starting point to find other wines you enjoy. We will happily point you toward another grape, region, or producer with some of the same characteristics as you already enjoy, while still giving you something new to discover.

If your best answer is, "I like red wine, but nothing heavy", that's useful, too.

Wine shouldn't be a test; it should be enjoyable.

What's the occasion?

Often, people are choosing more than a wine; they're choosing the wine for a reason. A bottle to open on Friday night doesn't have to deliver the same wow as a bottle you're gifting for a milestone anniversary.

If you're going to a meal and want to take a gift, you're planning a celebration, attending a barbecue, you need a last-minute tipple, or you're searching for a gift, we can help narrow things down.

“Dinner with friends”

A selection of easy-drinking wines that are good for sharing around the table.

“ Something to celebrate ”

From sparkling wines and champagne to bottles worth opening for a special occasion.

“ Taking a bottle to dinner ”

A selection of options when you aren't sure what's being served.

“ A gift ”

Wines we would be proud to give and more than happy to receive.

“ Just because ”

You don't need an occasion to enjoy a delicious bottle of wine.

How much do you want to spend?

The price tag doesn't indicate quality. You can nab a great wine without spending big, and expensive isn't necessarily indicative of enjoyment. It's about finding the right choice for you, whether you're looking for an everyday bottle or you want to spend more for a special occasion.

Set your budget based on the occasion to make your decision easier.

Under $XX

Great bottles for exploring something new, everyday drinking, or casual dinners.

$XX–$XX

This budget provides more wiggle room, whether you're buying for dinner, entertaining or looking for a gift.

$XX+

These special bottles, limited releases and wines for occasions are ideal for when you want something a little different.

Want to try something new?

Exploring is when things get interesting.

If you usually buy wine based on label recognition, there's a good chance you're missing out on some excellent bottles.

Many of the producers we work with at Terroir aren't household names. While some release small batches annually and others are on a smaller scale, many are working with grape varieties, regions, or methods you haven't tried before.

Rather than being a drawback, we see it as a strength. It's precisely why we chose them in the first place.

So if you're happy to step away from your usual bottle and explore the world, let us point you towards something we believe deserves a chance. You may just find a new favourite.

Let Caryn and David choose?

If you still can't decide, leave it to us.

Tell us a little about what you're looking for, and we'll happily recommend a few options from the Terroir range.

You can keep it simple with tips like:

“I need a red for under $50 to have with dinner tonight.”

“My friend loves Chardonnay, and I need a great birthday present.”

“We're having seafood, and I'd like to pair it with something a bit special.”

“I usually drink Pinot Noir, but I want to try something different.”

That's more than enough to get us started.

We know the wines in our range, the producers behind them and, most importantly, we've tasted every one.
